Blessing in disguise

I just finished the very nerves-racking exam of all time! I had my MUET: Speaking test today and two examiners from other state/school gave marks based on our 'points', 'language' and one more forgotten requirement.

Talk about the examiners first. One is an Indian; the other is a Chinese. The first time I saw the Indian examiner, she's so sweet, cute, friendly and warm. The way she portrayed herself and nodding with us while we spoke - made us calm and warmer. I don't get it. The Chinese examiner didn't even smile to us. She's a little bit tough, perhaps she's just expressionless, she's not that bad. I was scolded (slightly) by her because I sat in the wrong position, thanked God Khai Ling(Candidate B) realised it and very quickly we exchanged our place. Having said that, the examiner actually saw it, so she just "tegur" us a little bit and I said "I'm so sorry!".

I thought being the first person to speak is SCARY and most disadvantaging, because the first one may have no enough time to jot down all the important points. Nevertheless, I did it. Pretty well this time. No. In case, this was the BEST performance I ever gave during MUET: Speaking. Normal day, in the class, I only managed to speak within 1 minute. This time I utilized and used 2 minutes completely until the Chinese examiner even said "Time's up. Please make a conclusion." I was like WOW, giving myself a big claps.

Usually, the first to speak will leave impression to the examiners. I kickstart the group discussion as my group members and I already organised the flow of our discussion. Did I speak too fast or too "aggressively"?

After all, it isn't bad to be the first to speak :)

Happy for you! Speaking in front of people is my biggest fear too! So, I always admire people who have the courage to do so. Yeah, I admire you :D
